Amit Shah inaugurated a 120-foot-tall statue of a polo player riding a pony at Marjing Polo Complex in Manipur’s Imphal East district.

Chief Minister N Biren Singh gave Shah a polo mallet and an artwork of the game.

Northeastern state Manipur is considered as birthplace of polo sports.

“This will surely take the legacy forward and inspire more youngsters toward the game,” Shah tweeted.

Shah also inaugurated and laid the foundation for 21 projects totaling over Rs 1300 crore in Manipur.

In Imphal, he inaugurated the venerable “Kangla Nongpok Thong” (Kangla Eastern Bridge).

Additionally, he paid tribute to Netaji Subash Babu, the INA, & all the brave Manipuris who fought for our independence.
