Young Turks: Here’s what excites Ratan Tata to invest in startups

I started to make small token investments in what I consider to be exciting companies with my own money, said Ratan Tata, chairman of Tata Sons in a snippet from our special series 'Disruptors' from Young Turks.

“What I had to do was perhaps take greater personal risk than I might have it under different circumstances,” he noted.

Talking about startup investment, Tata said, “A sector that is very active, very quick to learn probably the best minds of that age group. I found that in my case it was selection more by intuition than by numbers. Very importantly judgment of the founders.”
