More than five percent of the world's population suffers from disabling hearing loss according to a 2019 World Health Organisation report.
Addressing this challenge, Google has built an app called Live Transcribe for those with hearing impairments. Live Transcribe uses your phone's mic to automatically generate captions that appear on your screen or when someone is talking to you. CNBC-TV18's Megha Vishwanath spoke with the makers of the app to find how it works.
