Addressing the nation today, Biden said that he and Kamala Harris have already started working on solving the public health and economic crisis the country is going through and that he has won more votes than any US President in history.
Biden is on course to become the first Democratic presidential candidate to win Arizona in 24 years and Georgia in 28 years. The election of Kamala Harris as Vice President is definitely a turning point in US politics as she becomes the first woman, first Indian American, and the first person of colour to hold the post. It is important to note the Indian American community's engagement with US politics.
Close to 300 candidates of Indian origin ran for local, state, and federal elections. Of course, the spotlight is on Kamala Harris who gets the Vice Presidents' job, if Joe Biden wins. But there are others too who have made it to key positions in American politics in this election. So what would be the priorities for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris and what is their cabinet likely to look like?
