After a highly polarised election campaign, legal challenges to the election results and unprecedented insurrection and rioting at the Capitol by Trump supporters, Joe Biden is all set to take over as the President of the United States.

His priorities in the next 100 days would be to ensure passage of his $1.9 trillion economic and COVID relief bill, reversing immigration polices put in place by Trump, criminal justice reform and re-joining the Paris Accord.

But what will the Biden-Harris administration mean for the United States and the rest of the world, especially India?

Meera Shankar, former Indian Ambassador to the United States, believes that healing race relations and climate change will be Biden’s priorities.

However, she said that the mood in the US seems to be somber due to the Capitol incident and COVID-19.

Former Diplomat Vishnu Prakash believes that the disruptions caused by Trump will take a long time to heal and Biden will hit the ground running from day 1. He expects to see healing of US economy and society under Biden’s Presidency.
