Facebook opened its new headquarters, MPK 21 in Menlo park, California.This is part of Facebook's $1 billion headquarter-expansion project.
So what's interesting about this office?
It is designed by veteran architect Frank Gehry and built in less than 18 months.
The 525,000 square-foot building houses about 3,000 employees and it is designed to be environment- friendly with a water recycling system.
It has 3.6-acre rooftop garden with over 200 trees and a half-mile meandering pathway with 1.4 mw of photovoltaic solar panels on the roof which can generate nearly 2 m kwh of electricity annually.
It is designed to achieve LEED platinum certification through the US green building council.
The office has five unique dining options, 15 art installations and a 2,000-person event and meeting space with A/V technology.
Facebook spent about $300 million to construct MPK 21.
