Google Tez was built for India is now going global and all the learnings that we have had from India can be exported to the world, said Rajan Anandan VP - South East Asia and India.
Readying its digital payment service for India, Tez, for a global rollout, Google on Tuesday renamed the app as Google Pay and introduced new features that could soon help its Indian users get instant "pre-approved" loans from some banks.
"We also want to make sure that certain set of features that are in Google Pay get integrated into Tez. So, it is a very positive development," Anandan said.
Tez had 750 million transactions and the gross transaction value now is $30 billion run rate, added Ranjan
"Google's philosophy has always been built awesome products that consumers love, that they will spread the word about and you can see what has happened in less than 12 months, Ranjan said.
