Early-stage venture capital firm Venture Highway has raised $78.6 million for its second fund focused on technology seed investments in India.
A large part of the fresh capital will be used for new investments in about 30 early-stage companies over the life of this fund. Setup in 2015, Venture Highway has bet on startups such as re-seller network Meesho, vernacular social network ShareChat, B2B industrial goods marketplace Moglix, social commerce startup WMall, SaaS platform O4S and fin-tech startup Wishfin.
Chennai-Based online car buying portal Carpal is on a mission to change the way customers buy cars. The last three years have seen the company notch up online sales number to 700 cars. Even as the startup is looking at expanding its presence, Carpal's founder and CEO tells CNBC-TV18's Jude Sannith that it is looking to notch up a healthy growth in the next couple of years and serious about meeting its revenue targets.
Silicon Valley-based smart messaging platform Gupshup is also expanding its services to South East Asia, Middle East and Europe.
