Startup Street: TiEcon Mumbai 2020 ends, corporate leaders say 2020 is for deep-tech, artificial intelligence ventures

The eleventh edition of the two day TiEcon Mumbai 2020 event ended on Wednesday and this year’s theme was "the decade of startups - kickstarting the future".

Corporate leaders concluded that 2020 will be the year of deep tech and artificial intelligence for India’s startup industry.

The event saw who's who of India Inc. Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy touched Tata Sons' Chairman Emeritus, Ratan Tata's feet after presenting him with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Apart from the two corporate tycoons,  HDFC chairman Deepak Parekh and Snapdeal co-founder and CEO Kunal Bahl were also in attendance at the event.

A report by KPMG has recommended to setup a Mumbai Innovation Centre for startups to help attract more investments in the space.

Bengaluru-based electric vehicle (EV) company Ather Energy has launched its new 450-X Electric Scooter. While the scooter is priced at Rs 99,000 ex-showroom across India, the ex-showroom  price in Delhi is Rs 85,000 owing to state government subsidies under the Delhi EV policy.
