United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres urged India and Pakistan to exercise restraint, his spokesman said on Monday, after India revoked the special status of Kashmir.
United Nations (UN) is saying that it is concerned about the situation in the region. They have been noticing a troop build-up in Kashmir and also the UN Military Observers Group has seen an increased military activity along the line of control.
The important point over here is that in the entire statement, which is sent as a reply to CNBC-TV18’s query, there is no mention of UN stand on the political developments that have taken place in India vis-à-vis Kashmir.
Pakistan is trying to take this matter to the United Nations to the UN Secretary General’s Office to the OIC and saying that this is something that violates the rights of people of Jammu and Kashmir and the UN must take the note of this and intervene.
