Pakistan isolated globally for supporting terrorism, says, geopolitical expert Qamar Agha

Updated : February 27, 2019 06:35 PM IST

Geopolitical expert Qamar Agha on Wednesday said Pakistan has been isolated internationally for supporting terrorism.

"Most trusted allies Saudi Arabia, UAE and other Gulf countries have been traditionally supporting Islamabad, but they have now distanced themselves from Pakistan," Agha said, "China has also come out with a statement asking Pakistan to negotiate with India, sort out the matter peacefully."

He said US secretary of state has issued a powerful statement asking Pakistan not to resort to the military response and instead close down all terror camps.

"Similarly, France has issued a powerful statement asking Pakistan not to indulge in any adventurism and negotiate with India," Agha said.

"Meanwhile, the internal situation of Pakistan is also not good. Its economic condition is very weak. Current account deficit is big and has money only for a month and a half. The traditional allies are reluctant to give financial support to Pakistan," he added.
