Loans of 22 lakh Madhya Pradesh farmers waived off, says chief minister Kamal Nath

Updated : March 29, 2019 11:20 PM IST

The Madhya Pradesh government has waived off agricultural loans of 25 lakh farmers as part of its 'Jai Kisan Rin Mukti Yojana', chief minister Kamal Nath said.

Just three months after snatching power from the BJP in Madhya Pradesh, Congress under Kamal Nath is hoping to put up a better performance in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

In 2014, Congress won just three seats and the BJP won 26. News18 held the "Rising Madhya Pradesh" Summit in Bhopal, which was attended by Nath and former chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

With the Congress winning the state by a wafer-thin margin in the state elections, Chouhan is hopeful that BJP can put a strong show in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Madhya Pradesh.
