Oil minister Dharmendra Pradhan, in an interview with CNBC-TV18, attacked Odisha's ruling party the Biju Janta Dal (BJD), saying that there was a huge "fishy culture" in Odisha's development work.
Pradhan said there were a lot of corruption allegations against the (BJD) government.
“The Government of India is pumping a big amount of money but it is not reaching the common man of the state because a major portion of that fund is syphoning out to the corrupt officials,” he said.
“Chit fund is a major issue in the state. Mining scam is another major issue in the state... on one hand, there is an incompetent government, corrupt government, insensitive government and on the other hand, there is a decisive leadership in the name of Prime Minister Modi who has created hope among the people of Odisha,” he added.
Talking about BJP’s strategy for Odisha, Pradhan said, “We will give priority to the road sector. We will build up, we will facilitate under public-private partnership (PPP) mode 15 new ports. We will clear 15 new tourism circuit within the state. We will create 15 new smart cities in the state. We will connect all the districts with rail connectivity. We will build a few new airports with the state funding."
On the election expectation front, he said, “I am confident we will win 21 out of 21.”
