Farmers in Haryana, Uttar Pradesh divided on agri bills; here’s a ground report

An all-nighter by eight opposition lawmakers inside parliament premises followed by Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivanash resorting to early morning "chai" diplomacy and the opposition deciding to boycott the Rajya Sabha - the high drama over the farm bills continue and so do the protests across several parts of Punjab and Haryana. But, some farmers believe some of these reforms can be good for the sector.

The state of Uttar Pradesh is not seeing large scale protests like Punjab and Haryana, but farmers complain of exploitation by middle men and inadequacies in the government's procurement system.
