    CWC decides to retain Sonia Gandhi as interim party president; here's what it mean according to experts

    Days after 23 senior Congress leaders wrote to Sonia Gandhi demanding drastic changes in the functioning of the Congress party and emphasized on the need for a full-time leadership, the Congress Working Committee (CWC) deliberated on this letter for seven hours today. Sonia Gandhi offered to resign as president but was requested by leaders to continue.
    The CWC has now authorised the Congress president to carry out organisational changes and has decided to fully back Sonia and Rahul Gandhi.
    An AICC session will now be held within six months to choose the next president. At the CWC, Sonia Gandhi said that she does not hold any ill will against any party member.
