Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana. The aim of this scheme was to provide loans of up to Rs 10 lakhs to the non-corporate, non-farm small and micro enterprises.
Today, after completion of three years of the scheme, Prime Minister Modi interacted with beneficiaries of the Mudra Yojana.
He announced that about Rs 6 lakh crore has been disbursed in form of loans to about 12 crore beneficiaries.
Around 9 crore of these borrowers are women and over 3 crore are first time entrepreneurs.
According to the Prime Minister, the Mudra Yojana has multiplied jobs, eliminated money lenders and middlemen and enhanced the lives of economically poor people.
