Narendra Modi government is all set to deliver the union budget 2019 on July 5. So, it is a perfect time to revise what was announced in the interim budget as well as look out for the hopes and expectations of all the investors and savers.
In an interview to CNBC-TV18, Amit Maheshwari of Ashok Maheshwari & Assoc and Harsh Roongta of harshroongta.com discussed the personal finance budget wishlist.
Roongta said, "I think employment has been a major political plank and the real sector is in doldrums and it is a major employer. So, therefore a package for affordable housing will be a booster for the sector."
Maheshwari said, "We believe that the exemption limit may go up slightly. Right now, it is technically not an exemption, we just have a rebate which operates up to somebody having income up to Rs 5 lakh. I believe that 80C benefits should be increased as it has not been increased for quite some time."
