Updated : January 08, 2019 01:08 PM IST

The latest analysis and commentary by stock market guru Rajat Bose on what is moving the markets today.

He also spoke at length on United Breweries, Gujarat Fluorochemicals, Godrej Properties, Nestle, Page Industries, United Breweries, Ramco Cement.

Recommending specific stock ideas, Bose said, “I have Page Industries January futures as a buy. This is a short covering rally and I have checked the daily chart, end of day chart that shows that when Page Industries goes for a short covering kind of a rally, it continues for three days. So chances are this rally is likely to continue and broadly I believe the range Rs 20,000 to about Rs 27,000 may not rise up to Rs 27,000, the short covering rally, but definitely Rs 24,400 could be a target and prior to that Rs 23,950 is another target for me. I would put a stop loss below Rs 22,350 for Page Industries. I tend to think that Page Industries headwinds to continue and it will breach the lows that it posted recently, maybe yesterday. So, it is just a short covering rally. United Breweries January futures I would put a stop loss below Rs 1,390, Rs 1,420 and Rs 1,434 are the targets. UBL shows a lot of strength on the daily charts, chances are there is higher levels, will be breached even. A cement stock that looks good to me is Ramco Cement. Rs 623.50 is my stop loss for January futures, Rs 639 and Rs 643 are the targets. I personally do not have any positions in any of these counters as well as any of the indices.”

Speaking about his picks, Rajat Bose said, "I have three buy calls, United Breweries January Futures I would put a stop loss below Rs 1,385 and my targets are Rs 1,410 and Rs 1,422. Second stock is Gujarat Fluorochemicals, my stop loss is below Rs 930, Rs 950 and Rs 959 are the two targets. Finally, Godrej Properties I would put a stop loss below Rs 724.90, Rs 742 and Rs 747 are the two targets."
