Rahul Singh, managing partner, Ampersand Capital, has advised investors to bet on consumption and IT saying that the two would be the "pillars for any investment portfolio this year".
“Predominantly, one would have to bet on consumption and IT ... consumption is now accounting for 30 percent of our portfolio ... there are enough headwinds for IT services including the currency tailwind in terms of weak rupee to support our thesis,” he said.
On global trade war, he said, “I think the risks are going to remain in this entire year arising from two things- it is just not the global trade war, but also the outcome of the interest rate hikes globally which we are seeing especially in US and the fact that that could start to have an impact on the kind of slowdown it creates.
