GTI Capital Group on Thursday said US stock indexes and the Federal Reserve remain big drivers for markets everywhere in the world.
In an interview to CNBC-TV18, Madhav Dhar, managing partner, said, The good thing about India is that even though there could global dampeners like Fed hikes etc., the economy is starting to picking up and accelerate. Moreover, moves taken with regards to bad loans etc. bodes well for the pick-up in investment cycle."
However, Dhar also specified that if US correction hits, it will take everything down with it.
According to him, there are few clearer growth opportunities in the world other than India and the US.
"The structural underpinnings of long-term growth in India is extremely solid despite hiccups. So, the best investment strategy is ‘never selling’ and in fact buy more when there is a big hiccup and not get out of this multi-year trend, Dhar advised.
"Market tops are very hard to stop, market bottoms are easier to stop,” Dhar said.
Dhar does not foresee a big market correction in the big stock markets, "Big corrections only happen if economy is completely unhinged. Growth-wise, the world is in a solid place. Systemically, the world is a better place when cycles are de-synchronised."
