Updated : June 13, 2018 12:50:14 IST

G Chokkalingam, founder & managing director of Equinomics Research & Advisory discusses with Prashant Nair and Ekta Batra his analysis on the fundamental side of the market as well as specific stocks and sectors.

Chokkalingam expects volatilities with downward bias in midcap and smallcap space till December.

Talking about market, he said, “We saw about Rs 12 lakh crore of market cap being whipped out largely from the midcap. I believe that little more pain would be there till December because of high oil price and trade war issues and also the state elections which would come in December."

He further added, “I advise investors to treat the whole of 2018 as a year of an investment hoping to reap very good wealth in the year 2019 post elections.”

  • He is of the view that Indian Bank and Vijaya Bank stand out as outlier in terms of performance.
  • He is positive on Sharda Motor Industries & Balmer Lawrie.
