Significant value is emerging in some pockets of consumer products which is not reflected in the price but going forward growth looks substantial and Kotak PMS is upbeat on that space, said Anshul Saigal, head and portfolio manager of the firm.
"These pockets could be both in consumer staples and discretionary," said Saigal.
"The way to make money is by being countercyclical. When markets are well that is the time to be cautious and when markets are doing badly that is the time to be aggressive,” he said.
Therefore, currently, when prices are down by 30-50 percent from recent highs, it is that pocket of the market which should be bought into rather than the pocket which has held on in this period of volatility, he added.
