The government on Thursday filed a fresh affidavit in the Supreme Court objecting to the reopening of Rafale fighter jet case.
In December last year, the Supreme Court dismissed four petitions seeking a probe into the deal and ruled that there was no reason to "really doubt the decision-making process".
However, the judgment contained a paragraph that said a report by the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) had been examined by the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament and a part of it had been submitted in parliament.
This was found to be not true and the government admitted to the error, but blamed it on a "grammatical misunderstanding". Now, the government is arguing that error in the CAG report does not impact the order passed by the court in December.
