IRCTC's Mumbai-Ahmedabad Tejas Express to start chugging from January 19

IRCTC’s Mumbai-Ahmedabad Tejas Express will be flagged on January 17. However, the train will begin its commercial operations on January 19 only.

It will be India's second private train to be run by IRCTC. The first train (Lucknow and New Delhi) started operations in October 2019. Mumbai-Ahmedabad Tejas Express will ply six days a week (except Thursdays). It will have six stops - Nadiad, Vadodara, Bharuch, Surat, Vapi and Borivali stations.

The train features modern facilities like state-of-art interior, AC coaches, bio-toilets, LED TV, automatic doors, reading lights, CCTV cameras, etc. Tejas Express will have two executive class chair cars with 56 seats each and eight chair cars with 78 seats each.

IRCTC will compensate for any delay of the train. Tejas Express will have dynamic pricing and tickets can be booked via www. irctc.co.in and 'IRCTC Rail Connect' mobile app only. Tatkal, premium tatkal quota will not be applicable on Tejas Express.
