Integral Coach Factory develops first MEMU with underslung equipment. MEMU or mainline electric multiple units caters to short distance intercity day travel.

The prototype is dubbed as Train18's 'Little Sister'. It's passenger capacity is 2,618 and coaches would be 23.1 metres longer.

It has a stainless steel coach body and aerodynamically shaped stainless steel driving end nose.

It has screw-less interior panels with sleek aluminum luggage racks. The sealed gangways between coaches permit end-to-end movement.

It also has CCTV surveillance system and GPS-based passenger information. The talk back system to enable passengers to talk to driver in case of emergency

Its speed is 110-130 km/hr and costs Rs 26 crore.
