BS Ajai Kumar, founder chairman and CEO of HealthCare Global Enterprises on Friday said that remedial measures are needed to bring back non-COVID patients to hospital.
"The collateral damage for other diseases is going to be huge if we do not take measures to correct the situation. Government, private hospitals, healthcare workers, media and all have to convey to the patients in no uncertain terms that people who have symptoms of other diseases should come forward and not fear the COVID-19. So we have to address the issues of non-COVID patients in a way where they feel comfortable to the hospital and even the doctors and healthcare workers should feel secure," Kumar said.
“For oncology patients, we need to encourage them to visit hospital. We have even gone on a public campaign that says patients, hospitals should not fear taking care of non-COVID people them as long as we have patients, doctors and personnel safety measures. So, the key is to have safety measures," he added.
