Chhattisgarh was one of the eight states that were called for a meeting by the Prime Minister to take stock of COVID-19 situation.
The state had been reporting over 2,000 fresh daily cases, with total cases since the outbreak standing at over 2.25 lakh.
The total deaths in the state from the virus stood is at 2,746.
In the meeting with the Prime Minister, the state's chief minister Bhupesh Bhagel said that the spread is being brought under control and 23,000 tests are being conducted every day.
He added that the state has also seen a significant decline in cases after October.
