EXPLAINED: Findings of the second National Sero-Survey

One in 15 individuals aged 10 years and above have been estimated to be exposed to the Sars-Cov2 virus by August according to the second National Sero-Survey. The findings of the sero-survey conducted at the end of August suggests 6.6 percent of the total population could be exposed to the Sars-Cov2 virus. The prevalence of the virus is double in urban slums areas at 15.6 percent versus 8.2 percent in non-slum urban areas, according to the survey.

Infections to reported case ratio has seen an improvement at 26-30 infections for every reported case (versus 81-130 infections to reported case in May 2020) indicating a substantial increase in testing and detection of cases.
