COVID vaccine: Expert panel seeks more data from Serum Institute and Bharat Biotech

Updated : December 09, 2020 18:58:20 IST

An expert committee of the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) reviewed applications for the emergency-use approval of the COVID-19 vaccines developed by Serum Institute of India and Bharat Biotech.

The subject expert committee has said that it can't recommend granting both vaccines emergency use authorisation just yet because data is inadequate. It has asked both companies to return with more data on trials and other documents.

CNBC-TV18’s Timsy Jaipuria brings exclusive details on what the expert panel had to say on the emergency use approval requests by both companies and how will they proceed from here.
