India's COVID-19 tally crosses 48 lakh as cases continue to rise by more than 90,000, but recovery rate also hits the highest level ever at 78 percent. Deaths increased by more than 1,000 for the 13th consecutive day, pushing the death toll to around 80,000.
Among states, Maharashtra remains the worst hit with more than one million cases followed by Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi.
Among cities, Pune remains the most affected with more than 2.3 lakh confirmed cases and over 77,000 active cases.
