Updated : May 13, 2020 11:52 PM IST

Bandhan Bank announced earnings on May 12 and their loan growth has remained steady despite the lockdown. But the bank has the highest number of customers that have availed of the moratorium. Chandra Shekhar Ghosh, MD and CEO of Bandhan Bank spoke to CNBC-TV18 about the moratorium provided to customers.

On the crisis, he said, “This is a very different view if you see the business model, 64 percent of our book is micro credit. These customers are not asking for moratorium from us. We had given the moratorium to them because as per model we have been going to their doorstep to collect installments. But because of the lockdown we cannot reach them nor can they come to us, hence we declared it as a moratorium.”
