US currency watchlist: India's tariffs highest in the world, trade representative Robert Lighthizer

The US treasury department has added India in the list of 10 nations suspected of devaluing their currencies against the dollar.

The US treasury department has added India in the list of 10 nations suspected of devaluing their currencies against the dollar.



Besides that, the treasury department has labelled Switzerland and Vietnam as currency manipulators.

The US has also criticised India's tariff structure, calling it the highest in the world. US Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer said that India needs to cut tariffs, if it wants a close relationship with the United States, reports Rituparna Bhuyan.
