This week on Wednesday the Delhi's air quality Index or AQI moved predictably from poor to very poor. Air pollution levels hit a four month high with particulate matter of PM2.5 becoming four times of the permissible level.
We have still not hit the festival season which is Diwali and the morning after. But finally we have started worrying. Why India’s National Capital, where the most powerful decision makers reside, cannot collectively fix the air quality of the city.
This episode of Urban Reality put the spotlight on Delhi and its air pollution problem. To discuss this Manisha Natarajan is joined by Tajinder Bagga, Spokesperson, Delhi BJP; Akshay Marathe, National Joint Secretary of Aam Aadmi Party, Vimlendu K Jha, Environmentalist and Prarthana Borah of Clean Air Asia.
