Sub-Lieutenant Shivangi becomes the first woman pilot of Indian Navy

Indian Navy gets its first woman pilot ahead of the Navy Day. Sub-Lieutenant Shivangi will fly the Navy’s Dornier surveillance aircraft. Shivangi had been undergoing training at the Southern Naval Command, Kochi.

She was inducted into the Indian Navy as SSC (Pilot) as a part of 27 naval orientation course in Ezhimala and was commissioned by Vice Admiral AK Chawla in June 2018. Shivangi hails from Muzaffarpur in Bihar and she completed her schooling from DAV Public School, Muzaffarpur.
