Navy's INSV Tarini returns after successful circumnavigation of the globe

The Indian Navy's all-women crew on board the INSV Tarini arrived in Goa after circumnavigating the globe over an eight-month period.

The vessel, which sailed over 21,600 nautical miles in five countries across four continents and three oceans and cross the equator twice, was welcomed by Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Navy chief Admiral Sunil Lanba in Panaji.

The expedition, named Navika Sagar Parikrama, was flagged off from INS Mandovi Boat Pool on September 10, 2017, was completed in sex legs with stopovers at ports including at Fremantle in Australia, Cape Town in South Africa and Mauritius.
