Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday will chair the first meeting of the NITI Aayog Governing Council after being re-elected.
The meeting will focus on issues like agrarian distress, drought situation and Naxal threat.
The governing council, which includes the members of NITI Aayog – cabinet ministers as well as chief ministers of all states will sit down at Rashtrapati Bhavan, where the meeting starts at 2.30pm.
Transforming agriculture, the need for structural reforms is going to be a key theme that will be discussed. Drought is another point of discussion. Drought always leads to agricultural stress. So that will also be discussed by the PM with states as well as his cabinet ministers.
