Updated : June 25, 2018 02:07 PM IST

We are expecting above normal rainfall activity for next one week and there would be a lot of improvement in the total rainfall amount, said DS Pai, Director, Long Range Forecast.

“In the coming few days there would be increase in the rainfall activity over Central India, North-east India and there will also be thunderstorm activity over north-west India from tomorrow onwards. We are expecting next one week to have above normal rainfall activity, there would be lot of improvement in the total rainfall. We are expecting July to be normal, we have forecast of 101 percent of long period average. So therefore I expect  good rainfall in the next 1 month,” said Pai.

He further added, “Along with the monsoon, we get a heavy to very heavy rainfall across the west coast and it is a very common thing. As of now, there is an orange alert in the west coast and we are expecting in Mumbai there will be heavy to very heavy rainfall activity.”
