The Bimal Jalan panel on the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) economic capital framework has submitted its report on Friday, sources told CNBC-TV18.

The RBI board, which will meet to discuss its annual accounts on August 26, will consider the recommendations made by the Jalan committee on the economic capital that the RBI needs. The RBI has a capital of about Rs 10 lakh crore.

According to the sources, chances are that on Monday, the government could get the annual dividend. The budget had mentioned that the dividend expected from the RBI is Rs 90000 for FY20. The RBI dividend is usually Rs 60000-70000 crore, which is declared in August while a little more is declared in January.

As per the sources, the government can expect Rs 60000-70000 crore from the central bank on Monday.

The panel could also give a timeframe in the recommendation that money can be given over to the government over several years.
