India's first engineless train to hit the tracks for trials on October 29

India's first engineless train, Train 18 is set to hit the tracks for trials on October 29.

It is developed by Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in a record time of 18 months. It consists of 16 coaches with a seating capacity of 1,128 and can run at a maximum speed of 160 km/hr.

It provides facilities like onboard Wi-Fi infotainment, modern pantry and bio-vacuum toilets.

The estimated cost of Train 18 is Rs 100 crore per rake.
