What are the big macro numbers one has to keep in mind ahead of the interim Budget 2019? Latha Venkatesh of CNBC-TV18 explains.
- Fiscal deficit number remains a crucial number — government's target is 3.3 percent. If the numbers is less than 3.3 percent, the market will give it a thumbs up.
- Bond markets are worried about how much the government will borrow because it is the remaining terrain that is left for private sector. If the government occupies too much of a terrain then the cost of money rises. So Rs 6.25 to 6.5 lakh crore gross market borrowing programme of the government will go well with the market.
- The rate of growth of taxes and the rate of growth of expenditure will be the big numbers to watch out for.
