Updated : January 01, 2020 10:13 PM IST

In a bid to improve India's Ease of Doing Business rankings, government is weighing up some amendments to the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC). Sources tell CNBC-TV18 that the government could expand the composition of the Committee of Creditors (CoC), who are in-charge of the insolvency process, and operational creditors could get a seat at the table.

India improved 42 places in the World Bank's Ease of Doing Business rankings and this was largely thanks to the insolvency law which saw India improve 56 places when it comes to resolving bankruptcy. To decode the proposed amendments CNBC-TV18 spoke to Abizer Diwanji Partner at EY India.
