Experts discuss the delay in implementation of Delhi's parking policy

Updated : February 22, 2019 01:51 PM IST

Authorities must charge a fee for parking of vehicles in residential neighbourhoods, the Environment Pollution Control Authority (EPCA) told the Supreme Court last week, taking a stand that’s opposed by the Delhi government.

This policy was first proposed in 2017 and a final draft was ready by January 2018. Since then, it has been going back and forth between transport minister Kailash Gahlot's office and other departments of the Delhi government.

CNBC-TV18 caught up with experts to understand what this delay is costing the capital in terms of pollution and land grabbing.
