David Hockney's painting 'portrait of an artist (pool with two figures)' is sold for a record $90.3 million. It is now the most expensive work by a living artist to be sold at an auction.
Christie's had estimated a price of $80 million for the painting. Christie's did not reveal the name of the current owner.
However, reports suggest that it was owned by British billionaire Joe Lewis. Earlier the record was held by Jeff Koons, whose 'balloon dog (orange)' sold for $58.4 million in 2013.
