Centre should borrow to break GST compensation gridlock, suggest experts

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is stressing that the centre is willing to hold further talks to break the compensation deadlock, but seems like a breakthrough is unlikely. Most opposition ruled states were against both the options and instead asked the centre to borrow. In fact West Bengal Finance Minister Amit Mitra had told CNBC-TV18 that the centre has enough headroom, but was not willing to use it for paying states compensation.
