Central government has asked states and union territories to ban electronic Nicotine delivery systems.
These include E-cigarettes, Vapes, E-sheeshas, E-Nicotine flavoured hookahs and heat-not-burn devices. The health ministry has asked states to ban the manufacture, sale, import and advertisement of 'ends'.
The ministry said these devices pose a great health risk to public at large, especially to children, adolescents, pregnant women and women of reproductive age
E-cigarettes do not burn or use tobacco leaves but instead vaporise a solution, which a user inhales. The solution, in addition to Nicotine, contains Propylene Glycol (with or without Glycerol and flavouring agents)
Governments of 30 countries, including Australia, Singapore, Australia, Sri Lanka, Bahrain and UAE have already banned ends
