The Supreme Court (SC) is set to hear a petition filed by CBI director Alok Verma challenging the government's order of taking him off duty.
The apex court, while hearing the matter on November 20, had expressed displeasure over the leak of Verma's confidential reply on the Central Vigilance Commission's (CVC) report.
The CVC had submitted its investigation report into the allegations against Verma. The agency, however, had invited stern words from the Justice Gogoi-led bench due to the delay in filing the report.
Verma along with CBI special director Rakesh Asthana was asked to go on leave
after both came out accusing each other of being involved in corruption and interfering in high-profile cases.
