Coal India CMD Pramod Agarwal has said growth has bounced back nicely, with September being “exceptionally good” in terms of growth.
“In October 2020 so far, despatches and production have grown 20 percent,” he said in an interview with CNBC-TV18.
Agarwal added that the company is planning to invest Rs 10,000 crore as capex in FY21, and said the company will pay out at least much as dividend this fiscal as in FY20.
The Coal India CMD also commented on the government’s decision to allow commercial mining, and said he does not see a big threat to the company’s position.
“Commercial mining will take at least five-six years to start producing coal,” he said.
