India needs to grow at about 10 percent for the next 10 years, chairman and managing director Ajay Singh said on Thursday after Prime Minister Narendra Modi swept to a massive triumph in the general elections 2019.
"I genuinely believe that this is a victory for India and all its 1.3 billion people. To have a strong and stable government for the next five years is absolutely incredible and will help us build the strong proud and prosperous India that we all want to see our country turn out to be,” Singh said.
"I think everybody is impatient. We have a lot of young people in this country and they are impatient. We need to shed this tag of being developing country and quickly move towards being a developed country. The target of $5 trillion economy in the next few years is an appropriately ambitious one and we need to take tangible steps to achieving that. We also need to build infrastructure for a USD 10 trillion economy. So I think a lot of work ahead but the focus needs to be on economic growth," he added.
