Government mulling to increase domestic flight capacity

Updated : November 13, 2020 18:43:32 IST

In a further easing of restrictions, the government is planning to increase the number of domestic passenger flights that Indian airlines are permitted to operate, sources privy to the developments told CNBC-TV18.

On November 11, the government has announced a hike in airline capacity to 70 percent.

Scheduled international passenger flights continue to remain suspended in the country since March 23 due to the pandemic.

However, special international flights have been operating under Vande Bharat Mission since May and under bilateral air bubble pacts signed with various countries since July.
