Volkswagen India recalled unspecified number of Polo GT, Vento and Jetta models. The German carmaker is recalling cars manufactured between April 1, 2015 and March 31, 2017.
The company wants to make 'necessary updates' to the Polo GT 1.5 and Vento 1.5 with manual transmission while the Jetta 1.4 TSI is being recalled for replacing the o-rings in the carbon canister.
Carbon canisters are used to prevent pollution by absorbing fuel vapour and Volkswagen had recalled 3,877 Vento cars due to inconsistent carbon monoxide emissions in 2016.
In 2015, VW recalled over 3.3 lakh vehicles in India to fix the emission software. Across its Audi, Volkswagen and Skoda brands sold from 2008 till the end of November 2015.
